Maestro Gianandrea Noseda will take us in a journey through Verdi’s music, an excellent chance to better comprehend the personality of the greatest Italian composer, his inspiration and the technical difficulties of his scores.
The Music Director of the Teatro Regio Torino, who last year led an unforgettable concert performance of Rossini’s William Tell, will introduce us to his concert with the European Union Youth Orchestra on August 25th at Usher Hall, also featuring Diana Damrau as soloist. The program will include excerpts from Verdi’s operas based on Schiller’s works and Mahler’s 5th Symphony.
The EUYO was founded in 1976 and was conducted by Claudio Abbado in its inaugural tour in 1978. Musicians from the EUYO will join M° Noseda at Canongate Kirk to recall its history and pay a tribute to the late, unforgettable Claudio Abbado.
